ABOUT
BYOT In Honour of A Fallen Mother, Who Loved Camping.
My daughter Ruven, a joyful and loving mother, passed; she was not sick, and this was unexpected news for my family and I.
Ruven had recently graduated from McGill University with a double major and was about to complete her Master’s degree. She was a diligent woman with ambitions and dreams for her two young children. On August 4, 2022, she left behind her four-year-old boy and a three-week-old girl, and I feel responsible for doing everything I can to give them the future their mother envisioned.
Ruven loved the outdoors so much that she went camping and fishing right up until the end of her pregnancy with Shiloh. She had gone canoeing one year earlier and had promised to take me, but we never got to go since her life was cut short.
I’ve always enjoyed camping and being outside, which is why I want to create a site where people can enjoy camping without compromising the luxury and convenience of a city, Canada’s Capital only 30 minutes away.
Given Ruven’s passion for nature, this will be an incredible effort to keep her memories alive and her children happy.
BYOT – Bring Your Own Tent – was born!
BYOT is a camping facility where you can bring your own tent or rent one from us. Local and foreign campers can both reserve a private tent to use as often as they want for a set price.
The 56-acre forest gives you the feeling of being in the wilderness but with easy access to the city. The site is only 30 minutes away from downtown Ottawa, where you can find plenty of attractions and activities. You can also explore the nearby Larose Forest Trails and Calypso Water Park, which are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts.
I’m planning to have the grand opening of BYOT on July 16, 2024, but I need your help to make it happen. I’ve already worked on securing the land and the permits, but I still need to buy the tents, the equipment, and the infrastructure. That’s why I’m asking for your generous support to raise $65,000 for this project and bank financing is additional.
Every donation counts, no matter how big or small. And as a token of my appreciation, I’m offering some awesome rewards for different levels of contribution. For example, if you donate $25, you’ll get a BYOT sticker and a thank-you card. If you donate $100, you’ll get a free one-night stay at BYOT for two people. For gifts of $500 or more Get two BYOT Camping t-shirts, a lifetime membership at BYOT with endless discounts of up to 30%, a free one-night stay at BYOT for two people, and an invitation letter for two individuals to attend our grand opening.
The money will be utilized to build a camping area. We will then donate the same amount up to ($65,000) to a fundraising family where the children lost their mother to start a business. That family should continue the tradition by giving the same amount to another family to start a business where the children lost their mother.
Although we are willing to donate the same amount, up to $65,000, to another family once our campsite is operating, we will be able to finance the camp, children’s upbringing, and their education. From time to time, I will continue to keep you updated on my grandchildren’s and the camp’s development.
If you want to have a private tent for 10 to 12 people made for you, you can contact us after making a moderate donation. International visitors are welcome.
Additionally, our campsite will be designed to host special occasions like birthday celebrations, graduations, weddings, and business gatherings. We look forward to creating memories with you and most of all, making your special event a success. We can help you plan and host a memorable event, whether you want to commemorate a milestone, rekindle a relationship with family, or impress clients BYOT Camping can be that place.
Thank you in advance for your support!
